The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are about to be featured on the upcoming season of HBO’s long-running NFL documentary series “Hard Knocks,” and we just got our first glimpse.
Bump’s hope about Nick Emmanwori going on Seahawks PUP list
Here’s the initial trailer for the season that dropped Tuesday morning:
The trailer, which you may notice includes a quick audio drop from Seattle Sports’ Brock Huard, arrives just two weeks before the season is scheduled to premiere at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 on HBO and streaming on HBO Max. The series will feature five episodes, with a new one premiering each Tuesday through Sept. 1.
This will mark the first time in the 25-year history of “Hard Knocks” that the Seahawks are the focus team. While the pervasive presence of a production crew covering the team 24/7 could be seen as a distraction, head coach Mike Macdonald didn’t look at it that way when he was asked about the show in June.
“Good,” Macdonald quickly responded when asked on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk what his reaction was to hearing that “Hard Knocks” would be coming to Seahawks headquarters to cover the offseason and training camp. “… (Seahawks president of football operations and general manager John Schneider) told me and I was like, alright. I mean, let’s do it. So, I mean, good.”
Hard Knocks is a reality sports documentary series that follows an NFL team for an extended period, with actor Liev Schreiber narrating 55-minute episodes. The first season of Hard Knocks followed the Baltimore Ravens in 2001. There have been 26 seasons in total, most of which have covered teams during training camp. There have also been five in-season editions of Hard Knocks since 2021, including two that have covered entire divisions, as well as one offseason edition that featured the New York Giants in 2024.
