The Seattle Seahawks announced Wednesday they tendered restricted free agent wide receiver Jake Bobo just before the 1 p.m. deadline that marked the start of the new league year. If the Seahawks had not tendered Bobo before the deadline, he would have become an unrestricted free agent.
Bobo received a right of first refusal tender, per Seahawks.com’s John Boyle. The tender gives the UCLA product a one-year, $3.52 million deal, per OverTheCap. However, he can still negotiate with other teams. The Seahawks can match an offer sheet from another team, but they would not receive draft pick compensation if they do not match an offer.
Seattle’s decision to tender Bobo comes after ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported last Tuesday that the team was not going to tender the three-year pro.
Bobo has been a fan favorite in the Pacific Northwest and a key special teams player for the Seahawks since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
Seahawks announce re-signings of WR Shaheed, LB Thomas
In 45 games with Seattle, Bobo has 34 receptions for 323 yards and three touchdowns. He’s also logged 587 snaps on special teams.
The 27-year-old Bobo saw his role reduced in a re-worked wide receiver room this past season that featured the additions of free agent signing Cooper Kupp, 2025 fifth-round pick Tory Horton and midseason trade acquisition Rashid Shaheed. He finished with career lows in receptions (two), receiving yards (20) and touchdowns (zero). But the 6-foot-4, 207-pound wideout did come up with a key 17-yard TD grab to put Seattle up 24-13 in its NFC Championship win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Bobo’s best season as a receiver came when he had 19 catches for 196 yards and two TDs as a rookie in 2023.
Did someone order a Jake Bobo touchdown?
