What stood out from Seahawks’ annual Lumen Field practice

SEATTLE – The Seattle Seahawks capped their second week of training camp with a trip to Lumen Field, where they held their annual “Football Fest” practice on Saturday evening.

It marked the team’s first time back in their home stadium since their Super Bowl victory parade on Feb. 11.

What stood out from the practice? Here’s a look.

‘A full-circle moment’

A year ago, AJ Finley was in the mix for a backup safety spot until tearing his ACL in the team’s annual Lumen Field practice. Back in the same setting on Saturday, Finley came up with a juggling interception on an overthrown pass by Sam Darnold.

“It didn’t hit me until I got to the sideline and all the boys were congratulating me,” Finley said. “It’s a full-circle moment. Sticking to the process and taking it day to day, it’s been a (heck) of a ride.

“I have a lot of good people in my circle – my wife, my family. Being here (rehabbing) with the team last year, it helped me a lot. It’s been a great experience.”

Not just a bruiser

With rookie first-round draft pick Jadarian Price sidelined for the second straight day due to lower body soreness, free agent addition Emanuel Wilson got a chance to split the first-team running back reps with George Holani.

Wilson, who totaled 998 rushing yards as the Green Bay Packers’ RB2 over the past two seasons, is primarily known as a bruiser. But on Saturday, the 5-foot-10, 226-pound back showed he’s more than just a power runner.

On one carry, Wilson raced around the right edge for a 20-yard gain. And on another, he started toward the outside before making a sharp cut and bursting upfield for about 15 yards.

“I’m bringing something different,” Wilson said. “A lot of people think I don’t have speed, but I have a lot of speed on my end, and just bringing a lot of power.”

Arroyo continues to flash

Second-year tight end Elijah Arroyo continued his strong camp with another good day. During an 11-on-11 period, Arroyo hauled in a touchdown pass over safety Julian Love in the right corner of the end zone. And in a one-on-one drill, Arroyo shook free from rookie safety Bud Clark before making a nice sliding catch.

“If he can continue this trend of having a routine, attacking the details, making those marginal gains every day, then I think this is the type of stuff that he is capable of, and he can take it even further,” head coach Mike Macdonald said. “The challenge is keep going.”

Extra points

• Nehemiah Pritchett primarily worked as the third cornerback on the first-team defense, behind top two corners Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe. And with standout Nick Emmanwori sidelined, Ty Okada typically worked as the second safety alongside Love, with Clark also mixing in at times.

• Speaking of Emmanwori, he seemed in good spirits while playing catch with fans on the sideline during warmups. The 2025 Defensive Rookie of the Year runner-up is on the physically unable to perform list as he recovers from recent ankle surgery.

• Defensive tackle Rylie Mills made his presence felt, engulfing Wilson for a run stuff up the middle.

• Safety Rodney Thomas II undercut a pass from backup quarterback Drew Lock for an interception.

• Third-string quarterback Jalen Milroe completed an across-his-body throw to Ricky White III while running to his left. Later on, the dual-threat QB showcased his blazing speed while scrambling for a 20-yard gain.

• Second-year wideout Montorie Foster Jr. had a long touchdown reception in an 11-on-11 period where he made a nice adjustment on a slightly underthrown ball by Milroe. And in a one-on-one drill, Foster shook himself wide-open for a reception against rookie cornerback Andre Fuller.

• Legendary former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was in attendance, wearing a shirt that read “Madden Ratings Performance Adjustor” on the back.
