All week we talked about what you could actually learn from a game against an opponent that is so much worse, and there were two things I wanted to see cleaned up from last week: turnovers and red zone efficiency. A check for the first one and a “well, it was somewhat better” for the second one.
The injuries are starting to become concerning, and the Seahawks now seem alarmingly thin at inside linebacker. Yet, credit Patrick O’Connell and Drake Thomas for always being ready. Filling in for the injury Ernest Jones IV and Tyrice Knight, they played with a tenacity and confidence that has embodied the Seahawks’ backups this season.
I’m not sure if there are enough superlatives to properly describe JSN’s season. He’s simply put up the greatest receiving numbers in a single season in Seahawks history… and there are still six games left to add on to that total.
It was by no means a clean game for Seattle, and I think you can chalk up most of the sloppiness to the quality of the opponent, but a win is all that matters each week in the NFL.
