Seahawks add tribute on helmets to late Hall of Famer Kenny Easley

The Seattle Seahawks will honor the late Kenny Easley with a tribute for the rest of the 2025 season.

A sticker of Easley’s No. 45 will be featured on the Seahawks’ helmets beginning with Sunday’s 10 a.m. game at Tennessee.

In honor of Kenny Easley, we will be wearing number 45 on our helmets for the remainder of the season.

The Seahawks also announced Thursday that the team will honor Easley during their Nov. 30 game against the Minnesota Vikings at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Easley is a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Seahawks Ring of Honor. He died Friday at the age of 66.

The Seahawks retired Easley’s No. 45 in 2017, the same year he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Easley is one of four players to have their numbers retired by the Seahawks along with wide receiver Steve Largent, defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy and offensive tackle Walter Jones.

Easley was a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro safety during his seven-year playing career. He was named the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 1984, becoming the first player in team history to earn the honors.

Easley retired after the 1987 season due to kidney disease.

Over 89 career games, all with Seattle, Easley made 32 interceptions including three pick-sixes, eight sacks and nine forced fumbles. He led the NFL in 1984 with 10 interceptions.

The Seahawks drafted the UCLA product and Chesapeake, Va., native with the No. 4 overall NFL Draft pick in 1981.
