The Seattle Seahawks made several roster moves on Tuesday in addition to their trade for Indianapolis Colts guard Quenton Nelson.

Shortly after the initial reports of the Nelson trade, the Seahawks announced they had re-signed wide receivers Montorie Foster Jr. and Malick Meiga to the practice squad. Fullback Jackson Acker and linebacker Josh Ross were released to make room on the practice squad.
Later in the day, Seattle announced it waived guard Christian Haynes to make room on the 53-man roster for Nelson and released tight end Josiah Deguara from the practice squad.
Where Quenton Nelson fits on Seahawks’ offensive line
Foster, 25, became one of the feel-good stories from Seahawks camp when he made 53-man roster following time spent as a substitute teacher and real estate agent. He was featured prominently during HBO’s popular “Hard Knocks” series, which this year featured the defending Super Bowl champions during their training camp and preseason games.
A Michigan State product, Foster had seven catches for 73 yards and one TD in three preseason games. He appeared in one regular season game for Seattle before being waived Saturday, logging one tackle in seven special-teams snaps in a 13-10 win over the New England Patriots in the season opener.
Meiga, a Coastal Carolina product, is back for his second stint on the practice squad this season. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Acker, Ross and Deguara had all been signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad since last Monday. None appeared in a game for the Seahawks this season.
Haynes, a third-round pick in the 2024 draft, made five starts at right guard this season in a time split with rookie Beau Stephens while starter Anthony Bradford was on injured reserve with a knee injury. He allowed 11 pressures and one sack and did not commit any penalties over 210 snaps.
The release of Deguara freed up a spot on the practice squad to re-sign Haynes if he clears waivers.
