Highly touted Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Kade Anderson continues to dazzle at Double-A Arkansas.

Anderson, the No. 3 overall pick in last summer’s MLB Draft, tossed five more strong innings against Tulsa on Friday night in his third pro start. The 21-year-old left-hander allowed one run and three hits, while tallying five strikeouts and one walk on 64 pitches.

Anderson surrendered his first run as a pro in the third inning, but capped his night by striking out four of the final five batters he faced.

Through his first three pro outings, Anderson has a sparkling 0.64 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 14 innings. The 6-foot-2 Louisiana State product has yielded just one run, eight hits and four walks.

Anderson leads the Texas League in ERA and is tied for the league lead in strikeouts. He has a league-best 41.5% strikeout rate and a 0.86 WHIP.

Prior to being drafted by the Mariners, Anderson starred in LSU’s national title run last season. The Madisonville, Louisiana, native posted a a 3.18 ERA with 180 strikeouts and 35 walks over 119 innings, capped by a three-hit shutout in Game 1 of the Men’s College World Series finals.

Anderson didn’t pitch in the minors last summer due to his heavy workload at LSU, but the southpaw is considered the most MLB-ready pitcher in his draft class and he could reach the majors at some point this season. He turned heads in live batting practice sessions this spring and made three Cactus League starts, posting a 6.43 ERA with nine strikeouts and three walks over seven innings.

Anderson is MLB Pipeline’s No. 17 overall prospect and Baseball America’s No. 20 overall prospect.
