• Outfielder Victor Robles is still a couple of weeks from resuming throwing after going on the 10-day injured list with a right pectoral strain on April 8. Robles has remained in Seattle since the injury.

“We just feel that we can do what we need to do with him in Seattle. So he’ll stay behind on the road trip, be with us when we come back home, and then we’ll see where he’s at,” Hollander said. “But it’ll be a couple weeks still of no throw.”

• Right-hander Carlos Vargas, who was recently moved to the 60-day IL with a right lat strain, started playing catch and worked through a plyo routine on Thursday. Hollander said Vargas will need a full build up before returning to the majors and best-case scenario is he could start a rehab assignment in late May.

“A little ways away, but encouraged by how he’s progressed and how he’s feeling, that he was be able to play catch yesterday without anything,” Hollander said.

• Infielder Miles Mastrobuoni is currently on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma, which is expected to be a lengthy one due to an abbreviated spring training. Mastrobuoni, who suffered a right calf strain while playing for Italy during the World Baseball Classic, entered Friday 1 for 13 with three walks and four strikeouts over five games with the Rainiers.

“I think just building volume for him is important right now,” Hollander said. “Making sure that when he comes back, he’s ready to come back and we’re not forcing him with a very, very abbreviated spring training or build up. But he’s doing great in Triple-A.”

• Right-hander Logan Evans remains on track for a return next spring after having Tommy John surgery to repair the Ulnar Collateral Ligament in his right elbow in January.
