Nick Emmanwori among 3 Seahawks added to PUP list

A trio of Seattle Seahawks have been placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list ahead of training camp starting Saturday, with the most notable – and surprising – name being second-year safety Nick Emmanwori.

That was not expected as Emmanwori has participated this offseason in minicamp and OTAs. It’s not currently known what injury Emmanwori is dealing with.

Joining Emmanwori on the PUP list is running back Kenny McIntosh and cornerback Tyrone Broden. Seattle previously put rookie defensive lineman Deven Eastern on the PUP list Saturday.

The Seahawks’ PUP list announcements on Monday came with veteran players reporting and taking physicals ahead of camp. Rookies reported for camp last week.

Players are eligible to return from the PUP list at any point during training camp. If they remains on the PUP list when final roster cutdowns are made, they must be placed on the reserve PUP list and miss the team’s first four games of the regular season, be released, be traded or be counted against the 53-man roster.

A standout last season as a versatile rookie who can play all over the field on defense, Emmanwori missed three games in September with a high-ankle sprain. He also suffered an ankle injury during practice the week of the Super Bowl in February, but was able to play 70 snaps in Seattle’s championship victory over the New England Patriots. There is no indication that Emmanwori’s current injury has anything to do with those previous ankle issues, however.

Bump’s hope about Emmanwori going on Seahawks PUP list

The 22-year-old Emmanwori was taken 35th overall as a second-round Seahawks pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of South Carolina. He had an interception, 11 passes defensed, 2.5 sacks, four QB hits, nine tackles for loss and 81 combined tackles in 14 games (11 starts) in the 2025 regular season.

The 26-year-old McIntosh missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL in the early days of training camp in late July 2025. A seventh-round pick out of Georgia in 2023 by Seattle, he rushed for 172 yards on 31 carries, caught three passes for 22 yards and returned six kicks for 153 yards in 2024.

Broden, who recently changed positions from wide receiver to cornerback, finished last season on the practice squad/injured list with an undisclosed injury.
