Wyman: Seahawks’ defense has found its recipe for success

Nov 21, 2019, 12:37 AM | Updated: 12:37 am

The Seahawks will return to action Sunday after a 13-day break from the NFL season, and that 10 a.m. contest in Philadelphia will be the first chance to find out the question that has been on all of our minds:

Is the Seahawks’ defense going to keep playing like in did against the 49ers?

Dave Wyman thinks so. In this week’s installment of Football 101, the Seahawks Radio Network color commentator, co-host of 710 ESPN Seattle’s Danny, Dave and Moore and former NFL linebacker has two plays to break down, and two points to get across.

The points:

• Why the defensive line showed that it is “phone booth tough.”

• How the defense is playing together.

And the plays:

• The very first offensive play of the game for the 49ers, a 1-yard run by Tevin Coleman that was stopped by defensive end Jadevon Clowney and set the tone for Seattle’s defense.

• The opening play of the second quarter, where Seahawks safety Bradley McDougald helped linebacker K.J. Wright keep 49ers running back Matt Breida to a 2-yard gain on a screen pass.
