Heaps: What Seahawks did in Week 4 that could lead to success vs Rams
Oct 2, 2019, 2:30 PM
The Seahawks’ No. 1 priority on offense is no secret: Establish the run.
Clayton’s Keys: Seahawks can prove they’re for real with win over Rams
It’s what they did in last Sunday’s 27-10 win on the road over the Arizona Cardinals, as running back Chris Carson ran for a season-high 104 yards on 22 carries. But establishing the run isn’t just about running the ball over and over. It’s also about opening things up for the passing game.
That’s what Jake Heaps of 710 ESPN Seattle’s Tom, Jake and Stacy concentrates on in his latest trip to the film room to break down some Seahawks plays. The former NCAA and Seahawks quarterback takes a close look at some running plays that Seattle succeeded with against the Cardinals, and how they set up a big pass down the field from the same offensive look.
That’s something Heaps says could be valuable for the Seahawks when they take on the Los Angeles Rams at CenturyLink Field in a battle of two NFC West teams with 3-1 records, too.
