Heaps: Breaking down Seahawks QB Russell Wilson’s TDs to 3 different receivers

Sep 15, 2021, 12:48 PM

The Seahawks’ offense is flying high after their 28-16 win over the Colts on Sunday, which amounted to a confidence-boosting debut of new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron as Seattle’s play-caller.

Listen to podcasts from 710 ESPN Seattle’s Jake and Stacy

A positive sign for Waldron’s offense was the balance it showed, and that’s not just when it comes to how much Seattle threw the ball compared to running it. It also showed up in the many receivers Russell Wilson connected with against Indianapolis, including three different players who made touchdown catches. They would be wide receiver Tyler Lockett (who actually had two), new tight end Gerald Everett, and Pro Bowl receiver DK Metcalf.

In the first episode of a new season of 710 ESPN Seattle’s Chalk Talk, Jake Heaps of Jake and Stacy goes through three of Wilson’s TD passes in Indianapolis to break down what made each play successful. For the other TD pass from the game, check out Dave Wyman’s Football 101 here.
