Heaps: What was so impressive about Seahawks WR DK Metcalf’s 2 TDs

Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is putting together a nice rookie season in the NFL.
DK Metcalf: If you don’t act like a rookie, ‘they won’t treat you like one’
The second-round draft pick has 402 yards and four touchdowns on 23 receptions, an average of 17.5 yards per catch. Two of his touchdowns came last Sunday in a 27-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons, which is where former NCAA and NFL quarterback Jake Heaps focuses his attention in his latest Seahawks video breakdown for 710Sports.com.
Heaps, who now co-hosts Tom, Jake and Stacy on 710 ESPN Seattle, takes a close look at both of Metcalf’s touchdown receptions from Russell Wilson in Atlanta in the attached video. Here are some details on the plays in question:
• Play No. 1: Metcalf catches a 4-yard pass from Wilson with 11:47 to go in the second quarter.

The presence of Metcalf is perhaps more important now than earlier in the season for the Seahawks. His 6-foot-4, 229-pound frame already made for a nice, big target in red zone situations, but that’s even more apparent after tight end Will Dissly suffered a season-ending Achilles injury two games prior in Cleveland.
Metcalf and the 6-2 Seahawks will return to action this Sunday in a 1:05 p.m. contest against the 2-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game will air on 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, with coverage beginning at 10 a.m. on the pregame show.
