With their established starters once again watching from the sidelines, the Seattle Seahawks fell to the Tennessee Titans 19-16 in their second preseason game on Sunday night.
Seahawks rookie safety Bud Clark expected to miss ‘multiple months’
The game was overshadowed by an injury to rookie safety and second-round draft pick Bud Clark, who is expected to miss “multiple months” with a broken ankle, head coach Mike Macdonald said.
Backup offensive lineman Mason Richman also suffered an apparent long-term leg injury in the game. And that came on the heels of wide receiver Jake Bobo’s season-ending knee injury in Friday’s joint practice with Tennessee.
“That part really hurts,” Seahawks Radio Network analyst and former NFL linebacker Dave Wyman said in his postgame reaction video from Nashville, which can be seen here or in the video atop this post.
In addition to the injuries, Wyman touched on the performances of several players, including backup quarterback Drew Lock and third-string quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Wyman also emphasized that while the Seahawks have lost their first two preseason games, things will look much different when the starters finally take the field in the Sept. 9 regular-season opener against the New England Patriots.
“It looks totally different when our No. 1s are out there on defense,” Wyman said. “It’s just a different team.”
