The Seattle Seahawks are signing two-time Pro Bowler Trevon Diggs, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, giving the defending Super Bowl champions another cornerback at a time when the availability of Terrion Arnold is up in the air.

Diggs was a Pro Bowler with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 and 2022, but he has battled knee injuries over the past three seasons. He was waived by the Cowboys late last season, then was claimed by the Green Bay Packers, who released him after he played a combined 34 defensive snaps in their Week 18 and wild-card playoff games.

A 2020 second-round pick by Dallas, Diggs made 17 interceptions and 49 pass breakups over his first three seasons with Dallas. He suffered a torn ACL that limited him to just two games in 2023, underwent season-ending knee surgery in December 2024 and had another knee procedure in January 2025.

Diggs played at Alabama while Seahawks defensive backs coach/defensive passing game coordinator Karl Scott was there, and he played under Seattle defensive coordinator Aden Durde in Dallas.

The 27-year-old Diggs had a tryout with Seattle on Tuesday, the same day it was reported by multiple NFL insiders that Arnold will be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list if he signs a contract. The Seahawks and Arnold agreed to a contract last week, but the team is ā€œworking through the timing and it may take a while,ā€ per Rapoport and fellow NFL Network insider Mike Garofolo. Arnold was released by the Detroit Lions earlier this summer after being arrested on eight felony charges in connection to a February robbery and kidnapping in Tampa, Florida.

Schefter reported Wednesday that the Seahawks still plan to sign Arnold.

The Seahawks have three-time Pro Bowler Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe in place as their top two cornerbacks, but the depth is thin at the position. The third corner spot is open after Riq Woolen went to Philadelphia in free agency.

Nehemiah Pritchett and Noah Igbinoghene are in the mix at corner, while rookie third-round pick Julian Neal is expected to eventually factor in but has missed most of training camp due to an injury.
