Coming off a Super Bowl title, the Seattle Seahawks’ future remains as bright as any franchise in the NFL.

That’s according to ESPN, which put the Seahawks at No. 1 in its annual NFL “Future Power Rankings” that were released Monday. The rankings aren’t based on the upcoming 2026 season, but rather on which teams are best positioned to succeed in the three-year window from 2027-29.

The rankings were determined by ESPN analysts Louis Riddick, Aaron Schatz, Ben Solak and Seth Walder, who rated each team’s quarterback situation, overall roster excluding the QBs, front office and coaching staff on a 1-100 scale.

Then, after averaging their ratings, each of those four categories were weighted to create the overall score: quarterback (20%), overall roster (30%), front office (25%) and coaching (25%).

The Seahawks had an overall score of 88.7. They ranked No. 1 in overall roster (91.25), No. 2 in front office (87.25), No. 3 in coaching (92.25) and No. 16 in quarterback (82.25).

Behind the Seahawks, the next-highest-ranked teams were the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 2 (88.1 overall), the Detroit Lions at No. 3 (86.2), the Denver Broncos at No. 4 (85.6) and the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams at No. 5 (85.3).

Elsewhere in the NFC West, the San Francisco 49ers were ranked No. 14 (82.4) and the Arizona Cardinals were dead-last at No. 32 (69.9).

ESPN’s rankings are further validation that Seattle’s championship window may only be just beginning.

The Seahawks won a Super Bowl last season with the NFL’s fourth-youngest team in terms of snap-weighted age, according to FTN Fantasy. And the vast majority of that young and talented roster is back, including 20 of 22 starters.

Furthermore, the Seahawks have eight returning starters or key contributors who are age 25 or younger: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (24), Devon Witherspoon (25), Nick Emmanwori (22), Byron Murphy II (23), Grey Zabel (24), Charles Cross (25), AJ Barner (24) and Derick Hall (25).

And on top of that, Seattle has one of the best general manager-head coach tandems in the NFL.

John Schneider, the only GM to lead the same franchise to two Super Bowl titles with two different head coach and two completely different rosters, is under contract through 2031. And defensive mastermind Mike Macdonald, who became the third-youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl and the first to do so as his team’s primary defensive play caller, is under contract through 2029.
