Reports: Seahawks to hold joint practice with Titans

The Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans are planning to hold a joint practice on Aug. 21, two days ahead of their preseason contest in Nashville, according to multiple reports on Thursday.

ESPN’s Brady Henderson reported it will be only the one practice.

If the practice goes through as planned, it will be the third straight season Seattle has participated in a joint practice. It also held two joint practices with the Titans during the 2024 preseason and one joint practice with the Green Bay Packers before their preseason meeting last year. Those practices also took place at the opposing team’s facility.

Prior to the hiring of Mike Macdonald as head coach in January 2024, the Seahawks had gone more than three decades without participating in a joint practice.

Macdonald on May 26 said the Seahawks and Titans were “trying to finalize” a joint practice. Two days later, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said San Francisco would be holding a joint practice with Tennessee before their Aug. 13 preseason matchup in Santa Clara, Calif., casting some doubt as to whether or not the Seahawks and Titans would end up scheduling joint sessions of their own.

The Titans are now coached by former 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who was hired by Tennessee during the offseason. Saleh spent three seasons on the Seahawks’ staff as a defensive assistant from 2011-13.
