The Seattle Mariners’ pitching carousel continued to spin with another bullpen move Wednesday.

The Mariners selected the contract of right-hander Casey Lawrence from Triple-A Tacoma and sent right-hander Sauryn Lao back to the Rainiers in a corresponding move. Seattle moved outfield Victor Robles from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL to make room on the 40-man roster for Lawrence.

Lawrence, 37, is back on the big league roster after being designated for assignment for the second time this season Sunday. The veteran has allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk over five innings in three appearances for the M’s this year.

Lawrence has a career 6.63 ERA in 129 innings pitched over five big league seasons.

Lao, 25, made his major league debut on Tuesday against Boston. He struck out three and allowed three hits and an unearned run over 1 1/3 innings. In three appearances (all starts) with Tacoma, he has a 2.00 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with seven strikeouts over nine innings.

Robles was initially placed on the injured list April 7 with a dislocated left shoulder and fractured humeral head suffered while making a highlight-reel catch in right field. He’s expected to be out at least 12 weeks.

The Mariners continue a three-game series against the Red Sox on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. Radio coverage on Seattle Sports begins at 2:30 p.m. with the pregame show. M’s right-hander Emerson Hancock (0-1 record, 12.71 ERA) is slated face Red Sox left-hander Sean Newcomb (0-2, 3.63).
