Here is an update on how each player has fared thus far on their respective rehab assignments, plus updates on Miller and Raley from general manager Justin Hollander’s interview with M’s insider Shannon Drayer and play-by-play voice Gary Hill Jr. during Thursday’s pregame show on Seattle Sports.

Bryce Miller

After having some trouble with the long ball in his second outing, Miller bounced back with a solid third start Wednesday it what could be his final rehab appearance.

Miller, who was on the injured list with elbow inflammation for the second time this season, set down the first 12 batters he faced and made it through 5 2/3 innings with four strikeouts and two runs allowed on two hits and one walk. He threw 76 pitches (51 strikes).

As it was in his first two rehab starts, Miller’s fastball velocity was up from where it was earlier this year in the majors. His four-seamer averaged 96.7 mph and touched 98.1 mph.

In three starts during his rehab stint, Miller has struck out 15 and allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks over 13 1/3 innings.

Hollander said he anticipates Miller joining the major league team at the end of Seattle’s current road trip or the start of its next home stand.

Victor Robles

Robles made his return to game action Tuesday for the time since suffering a fractured humeral head and dislocated shoulder making a highlight-reel grab diving into the netting in foul territory at Oracle Park in early April.

Robles has logged back-to-back nights at designated hitter since starting his rehab stint, which included a double in his first at-bat. He’s 2 for 6 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base over the two games. He also has already been hit by three pitches.

Robles is expected to get at least 40 to 50 at-bats in the minors before returning.

Luke Raley

Thursday’s start in center field marked the first time Raley has played back-to-back nights since starting his rehab assignment last Friday. He played first base the previous night and has also logged a games at right field and designated hitter.

Raley, who was dealing with back spasms, is 4 for 16 with two home runs and six RBIs. He hit a grand slam Sunday. However, he has struck nine times.

Hollander said Raley could return to the big league club this weekend when the Mariners face the New York Mets.
