Josh Naylor is back in the Seattle Mariners’ lineup for Thursday afternoon’s series rubber match against the Baltimore Orioles, but Julio Rodríguez is out after exiting Wednesday night’s 5-3 loss with a hamstring spasm.

Rodríguez initially felt the spasm after making a catch in center field, according to manager Dan Wilson. The three-time All-Star later exited the game after striking out on a check swing to end the sixth inning. Wilson said after the game that Rodríguez was day to day.

The Seattle Times’ Ryan Divish reported that Rodríguez was “moving well” while doing some running prior to Thursday’s game, but that the club wanted to give him a rest day.

Naylor returns to the lineup after missing the first two games of the series with soreness in his right wrist. He’s batting third and playing first base.

Outfielder Luke Raley, who was day to day with back tightness, is not in the lineup. Raley’s back is feeling better, but he’s now dealing with the flu, according to Divish.

Victor Robles will start in center field in place of Rodríguez. Dominic Canzone will play right field and utilityman Miles Mastrobuoni will start in left field.

Star catcher Cal Raleigh, who returned from the injured list on Tuesday, will serve as the designated hitter. Backup catcher Mitch Garver will start behind the plate.

Right-hander Bryan Woo (4.28 ERA) will take the mound for the Mariners. The 2025 All-Star is looking to bounce back after allowing a combined 12 runs in 11 1/3 innings over his past two starts.

The Orioles will counter with right-hander Shane Baz (4.06 ERA).

First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. for Thursday’s series rubber match. Mariners Radio Network coverage on Seattle Sports begins at noon with the pregame show.
