The Seattle Mariners will be represented in the Arizona Fall League’s annual Fall Stars Game by pitching prospect Adam Smith.
Mariners’ Randy Arozarena named Silver Slugger finalist
A 26-year-old right-handed reliever, Smith is 2-0 with one save in two opportunities for the Peoria Javelinas this fall. He’s allowed four earned runs on six hits and no walks over 6 2/3 innings and seven opportunities for a 5.40 ERA and 0.90 WHIP, and has 10 strikeouts.
Smith, who relies on a sinker-slider combination, went to the AFL after splitting the 2026 minor league regular season between the High-A Everett AquaSox and Double-A Arkansas Travelers. Over 33 appearances and 55 1/3 innings combined between the two levels, he posted a 3.25 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51 strikeouts to 17 walks.
Originally a 14th-round MLB Draft pick in 2021 by the San Diego Padres out of UNC Wilmington, Smith pitched four seasons in the Padres farm system, then one in the Boston Red Sox system. He became a free agent last fall and spent a month this year with the Lancaster Stormers of the independent Atlantic League before the Mariners purchased his contract in May.
The Fall Stars Game will be this Sunday at 5 p.m., and will be available to watch on a livestream on the MLB.com video page.
