The Seattle Seahawks have been busy this week attempting to bolster their ailing running back room that is down two key members.
‘I feel like myself’: Seattle Seahawks’ Emmanwori nearing full throttle
With Jadarian Price going on injured reserve last week and Zach Charbonnet still out for at least one more week while working his way back from a torn ACL, the Seahawks brought in two-time Pro Bowler Joe Mixon on Monday. However, it was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday morning the team declined to sign Mixon after a physical.
But the Seahawks ended up adding a pair of new running backs, including the signing of Robert Henry Jr. from the Washington Commanders’ practice squad to their 53-man roster.
Henry, who went undrafted out of the University of Texas-San Antonino this year, has yet to appear in an NFL game. But according to NFL draft analyst and former league scout Daniel Jeremiah, Henry’s draft status doesn’t reflect his talent.
“This is one of those ones where I liked him… but I got push back from the league on him,” Jeremiah said of his scouting report on Henry coming out of college. “… He was initially in my top 150 and then I pulled him out, but I gave him a grade that puts him, like, in the fifth round.”
Jeremiah also said Henry adds the type of dynamic threat that Seattle’s backfield is currently missing while it leans on Emanuel Wilson and George Holani.
Henry rushed 1,045 yards and nine TDs while averaging 6.9 yards per carry during his final season at UTSA, adding 114 yards and two TDs on 18 receptions. He was was seventh among FBS running backs with at least 100 rushes in yards per carry.
Jeremiah described Henry as a hard runner with “stop-start burst” and good hands out of the backfield who is capable of hitting “lots of home runs.” He said the rookie’s football IQ is his most questionable trait.

At the combine, Henry ran a 4.52-second 40-yard dash and posted 37-inch vertical jump and 10-foot, 4-inch broad jump.
Jeremiah pointed to Henry’s 2025 season opener against Texas A&M as a game where he really stood out. Henry rushed for 177 yards and two TDs on 16 carries in the game while looking like “the fastest guy on the field.”
“He can run,” Jeremiah said. “He’s gifted.”
