Salk on Seahawks: What has the NFC West showed through 2 weeks?

Two weeks into the NFL season, it’s impossible to know everything. But one thing we still don’t really know much of anything about is the NFC West.

Brock: One element of Seattle Seahawks QB Lock deserves credit

Look, it’s a good division. Obviously, three of the teams are good. One of the teams might be better than they were – we’ll wait and see on Arizona (1-1). But it’s crazy how we haven’t really learned as much as we thought we would through a couple of weeks.

Are the Los Angeles Rams (1-1) really good? Well, they went on the road to another continent and completely laid an egg, but then they came back and looked a whole lot more like the Rams we expected them to be. Aaron Donald was good, and Matthew Stafford is really good, and Davante Adams is still really good.

Are the Rams a threat? Of course they are. Are they the superteam they were cracked up to be? I’m still not sold on that at all, and I think the pressure of that will wear on them over the course of the year. But going out and beating the Giants, how impressive was it? Not that impressive.

As for the San Francisco 49ers (2-0), they got an opportunity to play the Rams who had showed up for the game in Australia 10 minutes earlier, so did that blowout really mean a lot? Does a blowout of the woeful Miami Dolphins, who might be the worst team in football, mean a whole lot? No.

Do I think those teams are good? Of course they are. Yes, they are good teams. Do we have any definitive proof that either of them are going to be better than they were a year ago? I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that, and that’s why I still think the Seattle Seahawks (2-0) are the best team in this division.
