Wyman’s Seahawks Takeaways: Smith wins QB battle, preseason stars

Watch video of Dave Wyman break down his takeaways from the Seahawks' preseason as well as the QB competition won by Geno Smith.

The Seahawks wrapped up their preseason schedule and are now just two weeks away from a Week 1 clash with the Denver Broncos and former quarterback Russell Wilson.

Someone who watched all three of the Seahawks’ preseason contests very closely is Dave Wyman, a former NFL linebacker who now hosts Seattle Sports 710 AM’s Wyman and Bob and calls every Seahawks game with Steve Raible for the Seahawks Radio Network.

With the preseason in the books and roster cutdowns coming up very soon, Wyman sat down to share his takeaways from the preseason for Seattle Sports’ YouTube channel.

Wyman’s takeaways include who his top preseason stars were on both sides of the football, as well as his thoughts on why Geno Smith was able to beat out Drew Lock for Seattle’s starting quarterback job. Additionally, Wyman shared what he would say to those worried about the Seahawks’ defense after watching the preseason, and he also made a few picks for who he thinks will be surprising stars for the team in the 2022 regular season.
