Watch: Seahawks return INT for TD on wild play

SEATTLE – DeMarcus Lawrence was in the right place at the right time not just once but twice for the Seattle Seahawks just a few weeks ago when he scooped up two fumbles and returned them for touchdowns in a win over the Cardinals.

This time it was Lawrence setting his teammate up to be in the right place at the right time in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

With Minnesota facing a fourth-and-1 inside Seattle’s 5-yard line late in the second quarter, Vikings quarterback Max Brosmer faked a handoff and bootlegged to his right but was met immediately by Lawrence. As Lawrence started to wrestle the rookie quarterback down, Brosmer unleashed a wild under-handed throw that went right to linebacker Ernest Jones IV, who proceeded to race down the field 85 yards for a pick-six and a 10-0 Seahawks lead with 3:14 to go in the first half.

The touchdown was the first in 73 career games for Jones, who’s in his fifth pro season. He now has four interceptions on the season, a career high. It was also Seattle’s third defensive score of the year.

Seattle tacked on a 56-yard field goal from Jason Myers to go into the half up 13-0.
