When it comes to figuring out what’s going on with the Seattle Seahawks in their quest to repeat as Super Bowl camps, we’re all about narrowing the focus.

Potential Seattle Seahawks ownership bidder reportedly emerges

What we mean by that is figuring out exactly what matters with the team right now. We’re at minicamp this week not to figure out whether or not Jadarian Price will have 1,000 yards or when Zach Charbonnet will return. We want tangible, more imminent answers.

With that being said, our biggest Seahawks questions right now are…

What are players saying about Brian Fleury?

One of the single biggest questions we have for the season is, “What does Brian Fleury’s offense look like?” — a question that includes curiosity about playcalling and adjustments, but one we’re just not going to know the answers to yet. No matter what we see this week in minicamp or what fans see later this summer at training camp, we’ll be entering into Week 1 without a definite answer there.

What we can get this week, though, is some insight from players. For instance: during OTAs, my co-host, Michael Bumpus, liked hearing Sam Darnold say Fleury had “command” of the offense because, as a former player, Bump felt like he and his teammates could always sniff out a coach or coordinator who wasn’t confident in his scheme and philosophy.

Hearing a veteran like Cooper Kupp heap praise or sound excited, or hearing any unsolicited compliments is always a positive thing.

Does Jadarian Price flash in an early eye test?

Offseason programs are always going to make offensive players shine, but sometimes a player looks special early. A player not shining early doesn’t mean he can’t be a star, but guys like DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Riq Woolen just looked different in their rookie offseasons. Sometimes it takes a veteran to call it out; former Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin told reporters, unprompted, that second-year pro Chris Carson looked great in camp when most questions at the time were about first-round pick Rashaad Penny. Carson ended up rushing for over 1,000 yards that season.

What we’re watching for with Price (yes, I asked Bump): vision, feel, flow and speed.

Which young guys seem vocal and involved early?

One of the very first thing Bump and I noticed about Devon Witherspoon his rookie season was how talkative he was. And we don’t just mean in interviews. He was going non-stop on the field at practice, and it was clear he was a confident player — exactly what John Schneider was looking for when he talked about young players who were willing to challenge starters for time.
