After back-to-back losses, the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks face the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in a primetime showdown on Sunday night at Lumen Field. Ahead of the matchup, here are three numbers to know.
Breakdown: The crux of Seahawks’ offensive struggles
• 35 – The big showdown is going to be between the Seahawks’ defense and Kenneth Walker III, who has been a revelation for Kansas City this year. The Seahawks’ defense has gone 35 straight games without allowing a 100-yard rusher. Does that change with Ken Walker?
• 133 – Ken Walker is averaging a league-high 133 rushing yards per game this year. That almost doesn’t do justice to what he’s done with Kansas City though, because he’s rushed for 170 or more twice. Unreal. So it feels like that’s where the game will be won or lost: Try to keep Walker from running on you, and do what you can as a defense to give your offense opportunities.
• 40 – Unfortunately, this year Sam Darnold is 0-2 when passing 40 or more times in a game. The Seahawks have to get their own run game going against Kansas City.
