The Seattle Seahawks signed offensive lineman Shane Lemieux to their practice squad just three days before playing his former team, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.

Lemieux, a graduate of Yakima’s West Valley High School, started four games at center and appeared in 12 for the New Orleans Saints last season. Seattle hosts New Orleans on Sunday.

The University of Oregon product is also reuniting with Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who held the same role for the Saints in 2024.

Lemieux ranked 57th out of 64 centers with a 51.1 Pro Football Focus grade last season. He allowed 12 pressures and one sack in 221 pass-blocking snaps.

The Saints cut Lemieux in August.

The 6 foot 4, 310-pounder was a fifth-round pick of the New York Giants in 2020. He played guard while spending his first four seasons in New York, starting a career-high nine games as a rookie. He’s appeared in 25 total games with 16 starts over five pro seasons.

Seattle’s signing of a former Saints O-lineman to the practice squad comes a day after the Saints signed former Seahawks guard and 2024 sixth-round pick Sataoa Laumea to their practice squad. Laumea, who started six games at right guard as a rookie for Seattle last season, was cut by the Seahawks last week.
