Seahawks FB Robbie Ouzts to IR, will miss 2026 season
The second-year fullback has not participated in training camp with an undisclosed injury, and dealt with a neck injury in the playoffs last winter.

The Seattle Seahawks have placed second-year fullback Robbie Ouzts on injured reserve, ruling him out for the 2026 season.
To fill Ouzts’ spot on the roster, the Seahawks signed linebacker Aaron Smith.
What Ouzts’ status means for Seahawks’ plans at fullback impacted
Ouzts, 23, has not participated in training camp while dealing with an undisclosed injury. He was inactive for Seattle’s NFC Championship and Super Bowl victories last winter with a neck injury, and also missed time on injured reserve in 2025 with an ankle injury.
Ouzts played 12 games in the regular season as a rookie, logging a pair of starts, and also appeared in one playoff game.
The 6-foot-3, 274-pound Ouzts was a fifth-round pick by the Seahawks out of Alabama in the 2025 NFL Draft. He converted from playing tight end to fullback after being drafted.
Seattle’s roster has two fullbacks: Brady Russell, another former tight end who converted to the position last year, and Brock Lampe, who joined the Seahawks last week. Lampe was an undrafted rookie who spent time last offseason with the New England Patriots.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Smith is a South Carolina State product who was on the New York Jets practice squad last year.
The Seahawks will open the preseason at 5 p.m. Saturday when they host the Dallas Cowboys at Lumen Field. Seahawks Radio Network coverage on Seattle Sports will begin at 3 p.m. with the pregame show.
