Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba ranked No. 5 in NFL Top 100

Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba made his debut on the NFL Top 100 players list on Monday, landing at No. 5 on the annual rankings that are voted on by players across the league.

Smith-Njigba is the top wide receiver on the list, ahead of the Los Angeles Rams’ Puka Nacua (No. 7), the Cincinnati Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase (No. 16), the Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson (No. 19) and the Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown (No. 22).

The four players ahead of Smith-Njigba are Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, Rams edge rusher Myles Garrett and Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson. The order of the top four will be unveiled throughout the week.

Smith-Njigba, the 2025 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, is the fourth Seahawks player to earn a top-10 ranking in the NFL Top 100 since the list began in 2011. He joins quarterback Russell Wilson (No. 2 in 2020), cornerback Richard Sherman (No. 7 in 2014) and running back Marshawn Lynch (No. 9 in 2015).

Smith-Njigba was just the third player from the reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks to make this year’s NFL Top 100, joining quarterback Sam Darnold (No. 21) and linebacker Ernest Jones IV (No. 97).

A 2024 GQ Sports article reported that NFL Top 100 voting occurs between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it’s unclear if that’s still the case.

Smith-Njigba piled up an NFL-high and franchise-record 1,793 receiving yards last season, which was the eighth-most in a single season in league history. He became just the third NFL player to eclipse 1,700 receiving yards in a season at age 23 or younger, and he also tallied a franchise-record 119 receptions and 10 touchdown catches.

Smith-Njigba finished with 1,992 receiving yards across both the regular season and postseason, which was the third-highest mark in NFL history. He had a massive performance in the NFC Championship game, hauling in 10 catches for 153 yards and a TD to propel the Seahawks past the archrival Rams 31-27 en route to their franchise’s second Super Bowl title.

Smith-Njigba then signed a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension with Seattle in March that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.
