The Seattle Seahawks shined in primetime on Sunday night, shutting down reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III and the Kansas City Chiefs in a 20-3 victory at Lumen Field.
Seahawks smother previously unbeaten Chiefs 20-3
The victory snaps a two-game losing streak from Seattle, which improves to 4-3 on the season. Meanwhile, the previously undefeated Chiefs drop to 5-1.
Two of the voices of Seattle Sports share their instant reactions to the game below.

Time to say goodnight to the dumbest narrative of the football season.
Ken Walker is a good player who had a great Super Bowl and got paid. He then got off to a great start to the season, perhaps due in part to playing some mediocre rush defenses. But he isn’t Barry Sanders. He isn’t JSN. And in this game, he wasn’t even Emmanuel Wilson.
Walker gained 36 yards on the ground. Eight in the second half. He was largely a non-factor. And that isn’t surprising because he plays arguably the most dependent position in the sport.
The Seahawks’ defense is great. GREAT. And after losing two straight games, they weren’t about to lay down to a narrative, let alone an undefeated opponent on national television.
That was a dominant performance that should send a warning to the rest of the league. You can underestimate this team at your own risk. You can run promos about Super Bowl hangovers. And you can mention the Super Bowl MVP and pretend he was the biggest reason they got the championship game.
Or you can recognize greatness when you see it.
Bob Stelton – Wyman and Bob (2-7 p.m. weekdays)
That’s a HUGE win for the Seahawks.
KC came into this game undefeated, with a top-five offense averaging 28 points per game, and the second-ranked scoring defense in the league allowing an average of 16.6 points per game.
The Seahawks held Ken Walker III, the league’s leading rusher, to 36 yards on 14 carries and no TDs. His lowest total of the season coming into this game was 70 yards, 18 carries and a TD vs. the Miami Dolphins.
This team absolutely rose to the challenge and looked like the team we all expected coming into this season.
Kudos to Sam Darnold, who bounced back in a big way after weeks of (well deserved) criticism. Granted, he did throw a bad pick in the end zone at the end of what was a brilliant first half for him. He ended the day going 20 of 28 for 257 yards, a TD and an interception.
JSN again proved he is the best WR in the league. He’s the only consistent, legit threat in their passing game, yet with EVERY defense focused on slowing him down, they still can’t! He’s goes nine catches on 12 targets for 150 yards and a TD.
I can’t say enough about what this defense did by holding the Chiefs offense to a total of just 3 points. Again, this was a top-five scoring offense coming into this game undefeated with the league’s leading rusher, and they were absolutely dominated by the Seahawks defense.
A tremendous win, to say the least!

Greet win overall. Great defense shut down the #1 offense in the NFL. SEA still has some major red flags tho, but hopefully they can fix those as we go forward. OC is still falling too many highly predictable and highly identifiable plays that the D isn’t having to worry much about and seem more ready for the play than our very own players. Luckily he found the playbook for our TE’s and dusted it off tho. Happy with the win. Hope they can refine the offense more in the next week for MNF
