On Monday, the Seahawks announced the signing of undrafted rookie Alphonzo Tuputala, a linebacker from the UW Huskies, to their 90-man roster. To make room for Tuputala, Seattle waived cornerback Kam Alexander, who played in college for UW’s biggest conference rival, the Oregon Ducks.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Tuputala is a local product who was an All-State linebacker at Federal Way High School.
With the Huskies, Tuputala was a three-year starter as well as a team captain in 2024. He had 221 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks and one interception during his career for Washington, and started every game during the Dawgs’ run in 2023 to the College Football Playoff Championship Game.
