Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald told Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk on Tuesday morning that three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Leonard Williams, left tackle Charles Cross, wide receiver Rashid Shaheed and edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu have “a chance” to return from injury for next Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Williams exited with a stinger in the third quarter of Seattle’s 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday night, while Cross, Shaheed and Nwosu each missed the game with injuries. Cross (ankle) and Shaheed (knee) got hurt in last week’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Nwosu (ankle) landed on the injury report last week.
“I think those guys have a chance to come back this week,” Macdonald said. “So, we’ll see. Now you’re looking at a return-to-play thing where they have to hit certain benchmarks to be able to practice enough to play.”
While running backs Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price made their much-anticipated returns on Monday night, injuries have been piling up elsewhere on Seattle’s roster. Last week, the Seahawks had a season-high 20 players on their injury report.
Macdonald emphasized that “getting guys’ bodies right” will be important this week, especially with one less day of preparation coming off a Monday night game.
“At this point last year we had our bye,” Macdonald said, referring to Seattle’s Week 8 bye last season. “We still have two more games until our (Week 11) bye, so we’ve gotta get our bodies right and we’ve gotta get our mental right so we can go in on a short week against a good opponent.”
Mike Macdonald joins Brock and Salk on the day after Seahawks games at 9:30 a.m. for The Mike Macdonald Show. Listen to the full conversation at this link or watch the video at the top of this story. Tune into Brock and Salk weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m. or find the podcast on the Seattle Sports app.
