The Seattle Seahawks are going to throw it back with an old rival this year.
The Seahawks and Denver Broncos announced Tuesday that they will both wear throwback uniforms for their Week 6 matchup on Thursday Night Football. The game will be at 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 15 at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High.
Seattle Seahawks’ most impressive player at training camp is clear
Seattle’s throwbacks feature their 1990s-era blue jerseys, gray pants and silver helmets, while the Broncos’ 1977 “Orange Crush” throwbacks consist of orange jerseys, white pants and a blue helmet.

Depending on your age, the game could either give you late 1970s, 1980s or early 1990s vibes, as the throwback uniforms will be very similar to what the two teams wore back in the days when the Seahawks were still in the AFC West along with the Broncos. Seattle spent 25 of its first 26 NFL seasons in the AFC West, eventually returning in 2002 to the NFC West, which they were a member of for their inaugural 1976 season.
The Broncos have the advantage in the all-time series against their former division rival, going 35-23 against the Seahawks. But Seattle kinda gets the last laugh considering it throttled Denver 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2, 2014 for its first championship in franchise history. The Seahawks have also won four of the last five meetings between the two, including the memorable 17-16 victory in the 2022 season opener, which was the first game for either team since Seattle traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos.
While the game could be nicknamed the “Russell Wilson Bowl,” we’re going to have to instead dub the Week 6 meeting between the Seahawks and Broncos the “Dave Wyman Bowl.” The longtime Seattle Sports host and Seahawks Radio Network analyst wore the original versions of these throwbacks for both Seattle and Denver during his playing days as an NFL linebacker, after all.

The Seahawks previously announced that they will don their throwback uniforms in Week 7 on Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs and Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, both of which are home games at Seattle’s Lumen Field.
The Seahawks introduced their current throwback uniforms in 2023. They also have a “Rivalries” alternate uniform that debuted last year and will be worn again this year in their Week 16 Christmas Day battle against the division rival Los Angeles Rams.
