Report: Seahawks host ex-Lions CB Terrion Arnold amid legal issues

The Seattle Seahawks hosted former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold for a visit on Sunday, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

What stood out from Seahawks’ annual Lumen Field practice

Arnold, a 2024 first-round draft pick, was released by Detroit on June 29 after he was arrested on eight felony charges related to a February robbery and kidnapping in Tampa, Florida.

Arnold, 23, is alleged to have orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men, according to the Associated Press. Prosecutors believe Arnold wrongly suspected the three victims stole luxury goods and $100,000 in cash from him.

Per the AP, Chief Circuit Court Judge Christopher Sabella granted bond to Arnold and stated that prosecutors are “not there yet” in having a strong case for Arnold’s guilt. Arnold’s bail was set at $1 million.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Arnold has one interception and 18 pass breakups in 24 games with the Lions over his two NFL seasons. He was sidelined for half of last season with a shoulder injury.

Since being released by Detroit, Arnold has also met with the Houston Texans and drawn interest from other teams, according to Schultz.

Three-time Pro Bowler Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe are entrenched as the Seahawks’ top two cornerbacks, but the third corner spot is up for grabs after Riq Woolen’s departure in free agency.

Third-year pro Nehemiah Pritchett and free agent addition Noah Igbinoghene currently appear to be the leading candidates for the CB3 role. Rookie third-round pick Julian Neal also was expected to factor in, but he’s missed most of training camp with an injury.
