On3.com reported Wednesday that Harden has entered the transfer portal.

Harden was one of 33 college athletes and 16 football players recently granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA by a Louisiana court that will make them eligible to return to college athletics, according to a report from ESPN. Former Oregon State running back Anthony Hankerson, who signed with the Seahawks on Monday, is also among the group.

According to ESPN’s report, Hankerson and the other two plaintiffs who are currently on NFL rosters have expressed interest in being released from their NFL contracts. If they are released by Sept. 1, they will eligible to join a college roster under the restraining order.

Harden was signed by the Seahawks on Aug. 5 and rushed two times for one yard in their 17-7 preseason loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. He was cut by the team Monday.

The 22-year-old Harden appeared in 44 games over four college seasons at UCLA and SMU, totaling 2,445 yards and 21 TDs rushing while adding 622 yards and three TDs on 82 receptions. He spent his first three seasons at UCLA before transferring to SMU prior to the 2025 campaign.

Harden was initially signed by the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland released him Aug. 3.

Hankerson, 22, is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at Oregon State. He’s rushed for 2,761 yards and 28 TDs and added 369 yards and one TD on 70 receptions over 44 games during his four-year college career with Oregon State and Colorado.
