Macdonald: Seahawks hoping to do joint practice with Titans

The Seattle Seahawks are hoping to schedule another joint practice this summer, but it appears once again it would take place on the road.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday after the team’s first OTA practice, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said they are “trying to finalize” a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans ahead of their Aug. 23 preseason game in Nashville.

What stood out from Seahawks’ 1st OTA practice

Seattle’s other two preseason games are at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 15 and on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs on Aug. 28. While the Chiefs don’t partake in joint practices under head coach Andy Reid, the Cowboys had previously been speculated as a potential option.

However, Macdonald appeared to shoot down that possibility on Tuesday. The Seahawks face both the Cowboys and Chiefs in the regular season, and teams generally avoid scheduling joint practices against regular-season opponents.

“The only one we could possibly do is with Tennessee,” Macdonald said. “… So, we’ll see. I wouldn’t say it’s a done deal yet, but we’re just trying to finalize some details. But we’re hopeful that will work out.”

After going more than three decades without taking part in a joint practice, the Seahawks have done so each of the past two preseasons since Macdonald has taken over.

In 2024, the Seahawks held a pair of joint practices with the Titans in Nashville ahead of the teams’ preseason game. And in 2025, the Seahawks and Green Bay Packers held a joint practice at the Packers’ facility ahead of the teams’ preseason matchup.
