Jaxon Smith-Njigba continues to somehow be on pace for an even better season for the Seattle Seahawks than he did in his monster 2025 campaign, and it’s earned him another weekly NFL honor.

What makes Seattle Seahawks’ JSN so hard to defend

JSN has been named one of two FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for his 150-yard performance in last Sunday’s 20-3 Seahawks win over the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.

Smith-Njigba, who also had a touchdown on Sunday, leads the NFL with 867 receiving yards (over 200 more than the No. 2 receiver) and eight touchdown catches (two more than No. 2), and is second in the league with 58 receptions.

This is the second FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week honor for Smith-Njigba, who also won in Week 2 of this season. Additionally, he was one of three FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year for the 2025 season.

‘Unguardable’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba outpacing his historic 2025

Smith-Njigba is on pace for 140 receptions and over 2,100 receiving yards this season. The current NFL record for receptions is 149 (New Orleans’ Michael Thomas, 2019) and receiving yards is 1,964 (Detroit’s Calvin Johnson, 2012), though both of those records were set before the NFL added a 17th game to each team’s regular season schedule.

Smith-Njigba set the Seahawks’ single-season records with 119 receptions and 1,793 yards in 2025.

JSN and the Seahawks (4-3) will continue play at 5:15 p.m. Monday night when they host the Chicago Bears (5-2) at Lumen Field. Seahawks Radio Network coverage on Seattle Sports will begin at 2 p.m. with the pregame show.
