Standout safety Nick Emmanwori is active for Seahawks vs Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks standout safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle, hip) is active for Sunday afternoon’s Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals after being listed as questionable on Friday.

Seahawks rule out RG Anthony Bradford vs Cardinals

Emmanwori, who missed Seattle’s Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, was limited in practice all week. The 2025 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year runner-up has been working back from July ankle surgery. He also was listed with a hip injury on this week’s practice report.

Seattle already ruled out quarterback Sam Darnold (glute), safety Ty Okada (hamstring) and right guard Anthony Bradford (knee, hip) prior to Sunday.

The Seahawks’ other inactives are defensive end Mike Morris, edge rusher Connor O’Toole and wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr.

Backup Drew Lock is set to start at quarterback for Seattle. It will mark the first start by a Seahawks backup QB since Lock filled in for Geno Smith and delivered a late-game comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15 of 2023.

Rodney Thomas II, who was elevated off the practice squad for the second consecutive week, is expected to make his second straight start in Okada’s place after a strong performance in the opener.

With Bradford out, third-year backup Christian Haynes is in line to make his first career start at right guard. Haynes, a 2024 third-round draft pick, played 167 offensive snaps as a rookie and 32 last season.
