After losing Coby Bryant in free agency, the Seattle Seahawks found another playmaking safety in the NFL Draft with second-round pick Bud Clark.

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound Clark showed impressive range, speed, anticipation and ball skills during his college career at TCU, where he totaled an FBS-leading 15 interceptions, two pick-sixes and 21 pass breakups over the past four seasons.
That included a spectacular 2025 campaign with four interceptions, a pick-six, seven pass breakups, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Clark then made a strong impression at the Senior Bowl, as The 33rd Team’s Sam Monson mentioned during a recent appearance on Seattle Sports’ Bump and Stacy.
“I love Bud Clark,” Monson said. “I thought he stood out all the way through the Senior Bowl week when we were down there in Mobile. That guy’s a ball hawk. He’s gonna make plays both in man coverage in the red zone, but also deep as a free safety over the top as well. He’s got some real range to his game.
“I thought that was a fantastic pick.”
Monson certainly isn’t alone in that assessment. NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger also raved about Clark on Bump and Stacy last week.
“There’s not (another) player in college football that left this year with 15 (career) interceptions,” Baldinger said. “I mean, he’s got ball skills, and they do travel. His anticipation and how he reads routes – it’s not gonna surprise me to see him take it away a few times.”
Clark also ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash and posted a 38-inch vertical jump at the NFL combine. And he offers plenty of positional flexibility, logging more than 1,200 snaps in the slot, 700 snaps in the box and 400 snaps at free safety over his six-year career at TCU, according to Pro Football Focus.
Clark’s talent and skill set could give Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald another versatile chess piece to deploy alongside reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year runner-up Nick Emmanwori and three-time Pro Bowl cornerback Devon Witherspoon.
“They’re going to love Bud Clark, man,” NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah told Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk last month. “Like, Bud Clark’s going to be outstanding in Seattle.”
