UW Huskies land pledge from local product, 1st 2026 H.S. recruit

The UW Huskies men’s basketball team landed its first high school recruit for the class of 2026 on Friday, securing a commitment from three-star forward Lattimore Ford.

Ford, a Snoqualmie native and Mount Si High School product, announced his pledge on Instagram.

The 6-foot-6, 185-pound Ford chose UW over offers from Idaho, Montana St., Oklahoma, San Diego St., Seattle U, Utah, Utah St. and WSU. He’s the 66th-ranked small forward and 222nd-ranked overall prospect nationally, according 247sports.

Ford was a three-year standout for Class 4A power Mount Si, which included helping the Wildcats win the state title as a sophomore in 2024. He averaged 17.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 27 games during his sophomore season.

As a junior, Ford averaged 18.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists, but his season was cut short at 23 games due to a torn ACL.

After his junior year, Lattimore transferred to Combine Academy in Charlotte, N.C., but returned to Mount Si shortly after. He was initially denied eligibility to play at Mount Si this past season, but was granted eligibility by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) in mid-January.

Lattimore returned in time to play 13 games and helped Mount Si to a fourth-place finish at the state tournament. He averaged 13.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

Ford is joining a UW recruiting class that includes four transfers: Texas Tech forward LeJuan Watts, Gonzaga guard Steele Venters, Davidson guard Parker Friedrichsen and San Francisco guard Ryan Beasley.
