UW women land Colorado State guard in transfer portal

The UW Huskies women’s basketball team added a piece to their backcourt on Tuesday.

Colorado State guard Brooke Carlson announced she’s transferring to UW on social media.

The 5-foot-8 Carlson played and started in all 35 games as a sophomore for Colorado State this past season, helping the Rams win the Mountain West Conference Tournament and reach their first NCAA Tournament since 2016. She averaged 11.7 points and shot 42.4% from the field while adding 3.1 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

Carlson scored a career-high 26 points against Michigan State in Colorado State’s loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Over her final eight games of the season, she averaged 16.5 points.

Carlson earned Mountain West All-Freshman Team honors during the 2024-25 season, averaging 7.7 points, 2.6 assists, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals while making 15 starts in 32 games.

A native of Batavia, Ill., Carlson graduated from Batavia High School holding program records for career points, assists and steals.

Carlson is the third transfer portal commit for head coach Tina Langley and the Huskies, joining North Carolina State forward Tilda Trygger and Oklahoma State guard Macey Huard.
