Two Mariners prospects named Arizona Fall League All-Stars

Nov 6, 2025, 11:34 AM

Seattle Mariners prospects Jonny Farmelo and Jimmy Kingsbury were each named to the Arizona Fall League’s Fall Stars Game on Thursday.

Should the Seattle Mariners go all-in on trade for ace Skubal?

Additionally, third baseman Charlie Pagliarini is one of three prospects up for the fan vote that will determine the final spot on the American League’s roster.

The 19th annual Fall Stars Game takes place at 5 p.m. on Sunday at Sloan Park in Mesa, Ariz. The game will be televised on MLB Network.

Farmelo, a 21-year-old outfielder, slashed .231/.414/.415 with an .829 OPS, three doubles, three triples, one home run, 15 RBIs and nine stolen bases in 19 games with the AFL’s Peoria Javelinas. He led the club in RBIs, extra-base hits (seven) and walks (18).

A first-round pick out of high school in the 2023 draft, Farmelo is the 75th-ranked prospect in baseball and the No. 7 prospect in the Mariners’ farm system, per MLB Pipeline. He was limited to just 29 games with High-A Everett this year, missing time early as he worked his way back from an ACL tear suffered last year and missing two months midseason with a stress reaction in his ribs.

Kingsbury, a 26-year-old reliever who spent his 2025 season in Double-A, posted a 1-0 record, 2.45 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 11 innings in seven appearances for Peoria.

Pagliarini, 24, slashed .308/.439/.519 with a .958 OPS, three doubles, one triple, two home runs, eight RBIs and four stolen bases in 16 games for Peoria. He led the club in homers, on-base percentage, slugging and OPS.

Pagliarini is up against Athletics prospect Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (shortstop) and White Sox prospect Braden Montgomery (outfielder) in the fan vote for the final AL roster spot in the Fall Stars Game.

What is the Arizona Fall League?

Each MLB team sends seven prospects to the AFL, which plays a regular season from October to mid-November and ends with two days of playoffs. There is also an annual Home Run Derby and Fall Stars game towards the end of the regular season.

The AFL is essentially a showcase league for baseball’s premier prospects. Per the official Arizona Fall League website: “Forty-one percent of all players named to the 2025 MLB All Star Game in Atlanta are AFL alums (33 of 80). Ten out of 20 players in the starting lineups for that game (starting pitchers and DH included) once played in the Arizona Fall League.”
