Starting pitchers set for Mariners’ first series out of All-Star break
Bryce Miller will start Game 1 of the series against San Francisco, which also features a matchup against an old friend Sunday.

The Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants have revealed their pitching probables for their series this weekend, which includes a matchup against an old friend for the M’s.
Mariners announce schedule for 2027 season
Right-hander Bryce Miller (4-3 record, 2.18 ERA) will take the mound for Seattle in the series opener on Friday at T-Mobile Park opposite right-hander Landen Roupp (6-8, 4.27).
Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo (7-6, 4.23) will get the nod in Game 2 against right-hander Logan Webb (5-7, 3.86).
And right-hander Logan Gilbert (7-6, 3.32) will toe the rubber in the series finale facing former M’s teammate Robbie Ray (8-6, 3.38).
Sunday’s game will be the third time the Mariners have faced Ray since trading him to the Giants following the 2023 season. He allowed two runs over nine innings in the previous two meetings.
As for the Mariners’ plans for their six starting pitchers beyond the first series out of the All-Star break? Those have yet to be announced.
The Seattle Times’ Ryan Divish reported the expectation is that each of the club’s six starters will get one start coming out of the break, which would leave Luis Castillo, George Kirby and Emerson Hancock to pitch in the following three-game series against the Reds.
The club could also return to its piggyback strategy at some point.
The Mariners open the three-game set with San Francisco at 7:10 p.m. on Friday. Radio coverage begins with the pregame show at 6 p.m. on Seattle Sports 710 AM and the Seattle Sports app.
