The Seattle Mariners have won four straight and are coming off of their first road series victory of the season, which was a sweep of the Cardinals in St. Louis. And as they head to Minnesota to take on a Twins team that has lost five straight and nine out of 10 games, it feels like the only thing that can stop the M’s right now is some bad weather.

That photo above comes courtesy of Mariners insider Shannon Drayer on Seattle Sports, just a little under seven hours before the M’s and Twins were set to play at 4:40 p.m. Pacific time, or 6:40 local time in Minneapolis. Barring the prior announcement of a postponement, Drayer will host the Mariners Radio Network pregame show on Seattle Sports at 3:30 p.m., during which she will provide the latest updates on the status of Monday’s game.
The forecast for the rest of the day isn’t very promising, which points to a possible postponement. Per AccuWeather, rain is expected in Minneapolis every hour today except for 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Central time.
The Mariners also encountered weather issues last season in Minnesota, where the Twins’ home stadium, Target Field, curiously doesn’t have a roof. Last June, the Mariners and Twins sat through a rain delay of nearly 4 1/2 hours before Minnesota won the final game of a four-game set.
Seattle is set for a three-game series this time in Minnesota, with Game 2 scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Pacific on Tuesday and the finale at 10:40 a.m. Pacific Wednesday. Luckily, the forecast does not call for rain either of those days, so if Monday’s game has to be postponed, it could be made up with a doubleheader before the M’s leave town.
The Mariners have avoided rain concerns thus far in 2026. Of their 12 games away from T-Mobile Park and its retractable roof, their first three were at Texas’ Globe Life Field that also has a retractable roof, followed by six in Southern California, where rain delays are rare. Finally, their three games in St. Louis avoided adverse weather as all featured temperatures at first pitch of 68 degrees or higher.
The Mariners are scheduled to have Thursday off before opening a six-game homestand at 6:40 p.m. Friday against the Kansas City Royals at T-Mobile Park.
