The Seattle Mariners reinstated rookie right-hander Logan Evans off the 15-day injured list Saturday.
Right-hander Casey Legumina was optioned to the Arizona Complex League Mariners, Seattle’s Rookie League affiliate, in a corresponding move.
Two key questions for Seattle Mariners in the postseason
Evans is returning after going on the IL Aug. 15 with right elbow inflammation. The 24 year old made two rehab appearances with Triple-A Tacoma, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out two over 2 1/3 innings.
The University of Pittsburgh product has pitched 15 games for Seattle this season. He has 4.37 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 58 strikeouts over 78 1/3 innings.
The right-hander made his MLB debut April 27.
Legumina pitched three innings, struck out four and allowed one run in three appearances since recently being called back up from Triple-A Tacoma on Sept. 12. He has a 5.62 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with 55 strikeouts over 49 2/3 innings in 48 outings in the majors this year.
The Mariners continue their final series of the season Saturday at 6:40 p.m. against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Radio coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. with the pregame show on the Seattle Sports 710 AM and the Seattle Sports app.
