There will be even more Seattle Mariners baseball on local TV, as ROOT Sports has added several games featuring M’s minor league affiliate teams to its schedule for the rest of this season.
The reasons ESPN’s Passan ‘firmly’ believes Mariners can win it all
The games will begin on Aug. 5 and go through Sept. 18, with the Mariners’ affiliates at the three highest levels of the minors getting time in the spotlight: the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers, Double-A Arkansas Travelers and High-A Everett AquaSox.
All but one of the games we be part of at least a doubleheader of baseball on ROOT. There will also be a tripleheader on Aug. 20 when the Mariners’ 10:05 a.m. game at Philadelphia will be followed by a 4:35 p.m. Arkansas game against the Springfield Cardinals, then a 7:05 p.m. game where Everett hosts the Spokane Indians.
Where Mariners prospects landed in latest MLB Pipeline update
Three of the instances will provide at least one baseball game on ROOT on a day when the Mariners are off.
“We’re excited to partner with ROOT Sports in bringing these games directly to our fans,” Mariners senior vice president of marketing and communications Gregg Greene said in a press release.
“Our Baseball Operations group has built one of the best farm systems in baseball and these telecasts provide a great opportunity to see our exciting young players on their journey to T-Mobile Park. We had five players named to the All-Star Game this year and four of them played in our farm system so these games will truly showcase the next generation of Mariners stars.”
Here is the full list of Mariners affiliate minor league games on ROOT (as well as any M’s games airing the same day).
