The Seattle Mariners established a strong farm system on their rise to winning the American League West and reaching the AL Championship Series in 2025.
And yes, their peers in MLB have taken notice.

MLB Pipeline has published a four-part executive poll, asking the league’s front offices to rank the organizations in the game based on various questions. On Thursday, the fourth part was revealed, focusing on the farm systems around the game.
The Mariners were ranked highly in several categories, including one where they were No. 1 overall. Here’s a look at those categories.
Mariners in MLB Pipeline Executive Poll
• Best farm system: Second out of the 30 MLB teams (17.8%)
• Best use of the draft: First (20%)
• Best at developing pitchers: Tied for second (18.2%)
• Best at developing hitters: Tied for fifth (4.5%)
The two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers came in as the No. 1 farm system in the poll – so yeah, they’re not going anywhere any time soon. The other teams behind the Mariners were (in order) Detroit, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, and the New York Mets.
Behind the Mariners in the best use of the draft were the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee, Boston, Detroit, the Dodgers, Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh.
The Dodgers were voted the best at developing pitchers (keeping pitchers healthy must not have been part of the criteria), while the Mets tied with the M’s for second. Los Angeles also was No. 1 in best at developing hitters.
The Mariners have seven prospects ranked in the top 100 overall in baseball by MLB Pipeline, tied for the most on the list with the Dodgers. Seattle’s MLB roster is loaded with homegrown talent, including Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodríguez, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, Bryan Woo and Bryce Miller, all of whom were drafted or international signings by the M’s. Miller is the only one of those players who has not made at least one All-Star team. The M’s also have recent draft picks Cole Young (first round, 2022) and Ben Williamson (second round, 2023) on their big league roster.
