Seattle Mariners outfielder Luke Raley is out of the lineup with a sore elbow for Sunday’s series finale against the Cleveland Guardians, according to M’s insider Shannon Drayer.

Mariners change up their starting pitching plans

During the Mariners’ pregame show on Seattle Sports, Drayer said Raley has dealt with elbow soreness in the past and that it doesn’t appear to be a big issue.

“He does have some elbow soreness, but we are told this is something that he deals with periodically,” Drayer said. “He had a sleeve on it this morning, (but) did not seem to be worried about it too much.”

Mariners manager Dan Wilson said they will reevaluate Raley’s elbow after they return to Seattle following Sunday’s game, according to Drayer.

“As of right now, it doesn’t look like they have anything scheduled for him in terms of tests,” Drayer said. “It looks like this is just a little bit of soreness.”

Dominic Canzone also is getting a day off Sunday to rest his hamstring, Drayer reporter. Canzone exited last Sunday’s game against the Boston Red Sox after tweaking his hamstring and then missed Tuesday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates before returning to the lineup.

“The occasional day off does wonders for that, he’ll be receiving a lot of treatment today rather than being out on the field,” Drayer said.

With Raley and Canzone both out of the lineup Sunday, Victor Robles will start in right field and Cal Raleigh will serve as the designated hitter. Backup catcher Mitch Garver will start behind the plate.

Right-hander Emerson Hancock (3.60 ERA) will take the mound for the Mariners, while right-hander Gavin Williams (3.82 ERA) while start for the Guardians.
