The Seattle Mariners had one of their earliest start times of the young season Sunday in Toronto, but their bats were wide awake.

The M’s didn’t waste any time against Blue Jays left-hander Easton Lucas, ratting off three straight extra-base hits to start the rubber match of their three-game series.

Dylan Moore kicked it off with a leadoff solo home run to left field, his second career leadoff home run. Julio Rodríguez ripped a double off the wall on the very next pitch. And Cal Raleigh continued his power surge with a two-run blast off the facade of the second deck in left field for a 3-0 lead before Seattle recorded its first out.

Moore, who got the start at shortstop in place of J.P. Crawford, took advantage of a hanging sweeper and ripped 364 feet for his fifth home run of the season. It was Moore’s third home run and ninth hit of the road trip, which he kicked off with a two home run-game at Cincinnati on Tuesday. The 2024 AL utility Gold Glove winner added to what’s been a hot start. In 19 games, he’s hitting .321 with a 1.002 OPS and seven RBIs.

Rodríguez rocketed a first-pitch fastball of the wall with an exit velocity of 110.7 mph. It would have been a home run in nine of 30 big league parks, per Statcast. The double ended a streak of six games without an extra-base hit for Rodríguez.

Raleigh belted a hanging slider 398 feet with 110.1 mph exit velocity for his ninth home run of the season, which tied Athletics first baseman Tyler Soderstrom for the MLB lead. The M’s switch-hitting catcher now has seven home runs in his last nine games.

Raleigh continued to torment Toronto in the process. The home run was Raleigh’s 11th in 23 career games against the Blue Jays including the playoffs. He entered the contest with a career .292 average and 1.052 OPS in the regular season against Toronto.

Raleigh also hit a two-run double and walked three times in Saturday’s 8-4 extra innings win.
